Board Room Artists Series

Higgins, Roberts, Beyerl & Coan, P.C. is a strong supporter of the arts in Schenectady. Citizens rich in the fine arts, music, and theater are a fundamental part of what makes a great community, and Schenectady has much to offer in this regard. As part of our commitment to this principle, we invite local artists to show their work in one of our spacious board rooms, which has been modified to accommodate these showings with a professional look. There is a new artist and new exhibit every three months, so we invite you to come early to your appointment and enjoy what the artist of our region have to offer!

We are currently featuring the work of Robin Rosenthal, of Niskayuna. Robin was an occupational therapist until retiring in 2006 to pursue her painting on a full time basis. She studied with Karen O'Neil at the Woodstock School of Art ,and also with local artists Walter Hatke, Trudi Smith, and John Hampshire. Her oil paintings have been featured in galleries and competitions throughout the Capital Region, and her painting "The Things We Carry" was awarded 1st Place at the Stockade Villager's Outdoor Art Show, 2011, in Schenectady.

From the artist's statement: "I try to capture the moment that inspired the painting, that brief visual stillness when objects are seen as a completed work. All of life's daily interactions have disappeared and only the color of my paint and my brushstrokes remain. I work from life using natural light and paint simplified forms of everyday objects. My goal is to create that sense of light and freshness of each day in my paintings."

You can see more of Ms. Rosenthal's work here.
