Larry DeAngelus named to represent the Schenectady County Chamber of Commerce on the Schenectady City School District’s “Community Stakeholder Group”. This group was created by the School District to assist the school board in its search for a new Superintendent.

Richard Fuerst, as Chairman of the Union College Annual Business Campaign (ABC) Executive Committee, was the Master of Ceremonies for the Annual ABC Kick-Off Event that welcomed over 150 business, political, and community leaders. Mr. Fuerst introduced, Mr. Prescott Logan, General Manager of GE Energy Storage Technologies, who was the Key Note speaker for the ABC Kick-Off Event

Michael Basile won an important case on retirement benefits at the Appellate Division. The court held that a wife’s waiver in a separation agreement of husband’s qualified plan benefits is valid against the wife even though the husband did not change his beneficiary designation with the plan administrator prior to his death as required by federal law. Hess v. Wojcik-Hess is 86 A.D. 847, 928 N.Y.S.2d 103 (3rd Dept., 2011)

Larry DeAngelus served as the Master of Ceremonies for the 30th Annual Schenectady County Bar Association Real Property Seminar. The day-long event attracted over 150 attorneys from 7 counties.

Richard Fuerst was elected Vice President of the Living Resources Foundation. The foundation was formed in 1993 to assist Living Resources to accept, solicit, collect and otherwise raise money for charitable purposes, particularly for the promotion of the care, facilities and equipment for individuals with disabilities and their families.

HRBC's Board Room Artists continues with local artist Noelle Macgonigle. Ms. Macgonigle's medium is fine point pen and ink on handmade paper. Her work can be seen on her Facebook page, and in our office through December.

June, 2010
HRBC's "Board Room Artists" Series continues with photographic artist Mitch Messmore. Mr. Messmore is the Director of the Union Street BID, Director of Capital Region Initiative Supporting The Arts (CRISTA), and is the founder and coordinator of Arts Night Schenectady. He curates many of the exhibits at Proctor's Theater, as well as our own Board Room Artists Series. His work can be seen at www.messmore.net.

HRBC's "Board Room Artists" Series begins with abstract painter Tony Iadicicco. Every three months a different community-based creator of fine arts will introduce themselves and their work to our clients in a conference room newly fitted up as an art gallery. The Board Room Artists Series is another of our firm's initiatives supporting the arts in Schenectady.
